The Usual

I'm the kind of person that orders the same thing every time I go to a restaurant. I like to try new places but I always seem to go back to my favorites. D likes to try new things all the time. If we go to dinner with the family he won't even order the same thing as someone else at the table.

D and I made a list of things we wanted to do together when we were on our first date. Movies one of us loved that the other hadn't seen, books the other hadn't read, places in Utah he had never been to I wanted him to visit and so on. One of the things on the list was to have place that asked us if we want "the usual" when we ate there. Luckily for me, I not only married the boy but we also found our places.

Our favorite place is El Gallo Giro. If you live in Provo and haven't been there, go! We love it there, and being a regular has its benefits. On busy days the line is out the door, and if our waitress sees us she waves us to a table and brings our order out. She doesn't even ask. I went in with my mom last week when she was in town, and one of the waitresses asked where my redhead was.

Our second favorite place in Provo is Two Jack's Pizza on center street. It is super fast, an awesome deal and Manny (owner/chef) is the friendliest guy ever. He was the first to actually use the words "the usual". D and I just looked at each other and started laughing. We made "the list" a little over three years ago and just this summer we finally checked off one of our major goals!

I'm planning on checking off a bunch of the items on our list this summer, since we have a school free year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that a major road trip gets checked off! And definitely learning stick shift (for both D and I).
