I have been a little MIA because my mom surprised her girls with a trip to Nauvoo for my baby sister's birthday. My baby sister just turned 19 which is insane. She will always be eight years old in my book (and she will always hate that). Our trip was amazing. I'm consider myself somewhat an American history buff so crossing the Mississippi made my little American heart pitter-patter.
I flew in to Denver to surprise my sister (who was already there with my parents visiting my older sister) and then we drove to days to Illinois. I thought the drive would be terrible but it took my breath away. The Midwest is absolutely gorgeous! It gave me a little confidence boost that if D and I end up out there for Med School I will love it.
Anyway here are some pics from our wonderful, fun-filled, girls-only adventure! (The pictures are all off my phone so I'm still missing the pictures of all of my family from my madre's camera)
Nauvoo was so beautiful. It is a crazy experience to walk where the saints walked. I loved the red brick and the slow feel to the city. It truly is a beautiful place.
Also, while I was away on this trip D was in Michigan for his first med school interview of the season! But I will tell more about that on Thursday!
