Meet the Catts

Hi there! We are the Catts.

Our Lovey-Dovey Story

Danny and I met the summer of 2009 at EFY. We were pretty much smitten from day one and we spent the week exchanging glances and smiles. Our first date was on the 4th of July (which is the most romantic holiday in my opinion) and that was the end of life as I knew it. We spent the evening watching fireworks, playing with sparklers, reading the Declaration of Independence and talking late into the night.

D returned to Colorado the next day and we spent the following two weeks on the phone for hours every day. When we couldn't take it anymore we decided to drive 4 hours and meet in the middle for our second date. We spent the whole day in Fruita, CO in the national park and making lists of all the things we wanted to read/watch/see/do together. It was easily the best date of my life.

A few weeks later Danny came out for another EFY session and then the annual counselor trip to Disneyland. At one point we were trying on hats at some goofy shop on the California Adventure Pier and I looked at him and knew I was going to marry him.

At the end of summer D went to Provo for school at Brigham Young University and I headed north to Utah State in Logan. We decided to just let things run their course and maybe see each other every few weeks or so. But that didn't work out so I spent every, single weekend meeting him half way in Ogden. In January I did the unthinkable and transferred to BYU.

We got engaged on January 29, 2010.

And then on a very, very snowy day we were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on April 29, 2010.
It was the best day of my life because I knew I was going to be with my best friend forever.

Now D and I have been married for a little over two years. We have learned a lot about ourselves, each other and marriage. Like everyone, we have our good days and our bad days but we have been blessed with an incredibly happy marriage. We both graduated from BYU in April, D in Physiology & Developmental Biology and me in American Studies.

  1. I love this. Ty and I also went to Disneyland while we were dating. We watched the fireworks and I felt fireworks and I knew it was all over for us.

We're going back in August and I know we'll be going as frequently as possible for the rest of our lives.
