I recently read "The Gifts of Imperfection" by Brene Brown. It was a beautiful reading experience. Brene is a shame researcher (those exist); she focuses on how shame affects our lives by how it influences our connections with ourselves and with others. In her book she introduces TGIF and I was so inspired by it, Syd and I decided to implement it (with a twist) on Wives, M.D. TGIF, in this sense, stands for "Trust, Gratitude, Inspiration Fridays". We hope to share articles that inspire us each week; whether they be about medical school, family, marriage, relationships or just world events. I think both Syd and I have realized the way to find happiness during the overwhelming med school process is to keep perspective by appreciating the little things. So with no further ado....

I'm trusting that everything happens for a reason, our struggles that set us on a new path lead us to where we really need to be.

I'm grateful  for the support Syd & I received this week as we started our journey as Wives, M.D.

And I am inspired by "The Gifts of Imperfection" and the new perspective it has given me. Here is a video of Brene explaining her book and the concept of shame and the power of connection.

Thank goodness it's Friday! Until next week!
