A little Insta life

So I have always been an instagram fan. I may have been jealous of my friends who had instagram in the beginning because that meant they had iphones. One day I'll be an iphone user but for now I deal with my trusty droid. Anyway, I was beyond excited for instagram to make it to android. Unfortunately  my little phone has a crappy camera. So instagram pictures aren't awesome. But they will do.

Anyway.... a little update on our last couple of weeks.

Us just chilling at "home" in Utah with the family // A little pack'n'play for our little visitor // Sunday morning stroll around Temple Square before Spence headed back to Chicago // Finally installed shelves in our place // Girls night in Provo with my Jeru loves, and yes that is a hedgehog // Watching General Conference all bundled up at home // Loving having Megs, Mom and Lainey come to visit us // Enjoying the last good strawberries of the year // Sad to see Megs and Lainey go home //

This week I am crazy busy with our big summit at work. So ready to get back to Chicago with my cute med-student and back to non-stressful life.

the barfuss family is running running!!!

wow...
this weekend has been super crazy busy.
i'm beginning to think that is how the rest of our summer is going to be.

when you only have 4 weeks left in a place you seem to want to cram as much in as possible
at least thats what we've done.

quick update.

spence: trying desperately to get everything done for med school before our cruise. northwestern sent him a long list of pre-med school to do's due by july 1st. bad news...we're gone most of this week on vaca with the family (or that could be good news). poor boy had to get a  bunch of shots and i couldn't be there to hold his hand.

syd: luckily i will be keeping my job when we move to chicago. but i will be changing to a new position.  these next few weeks are going to be crazy busy as we try and get things done at the office and work on the transition. so basically my life has been work. all the time. good thing i like my job.

us: we did take some good "us" time this weekend. a little double-date downtown to one of our fav. places to eat. blue lemon. followed by a few intense rounds of cards with some good friends. i forgot to take pictures we were having so much fun. i did snap a great self portrait as we were walking back to the car after dinner.

saturday we had a nice day running errands, taking naps, putting out fires (more on that on my personal blog), and watching some good ol' baseball. again i was crappy with the picture taking but got a good self portrait at the bee's game. (dang i'm getting good at those).

basically we are loving life. still plugging along. next week i'll have more to share because....
like i said before WE'RE GOING ON A CRUISE!!!  as you can tell we're super duper excited.

this week is full of...
- trip preparing (packing all the swimsuits...holla)
- work work work
- playing with friends who are coming into town
- and summer lovin'

hope your weekend was as great as ours!!!

Double Feature at the Drive-In

I spent the weekend with my family up in the Ogden area for Father's Day. Unfortunately, D had to stay home for work. So when I returned I took him on a special surprise date for his "weekend" (since he has Tues/Wed off)! I made him sit in the car blindfolded while I packed the back of the Subaru full of pillows, blankets, card games, and a cooler full of movie treats and covered it all up with a blanket.

Then we headed to Sandy to grab some dinner at Chipotle, our very favorite place. We had some time to kill so we went to Target to wander around because that is always a good idea. I found "Hello Panda"'s in the dollar section and eeeked my way back to Danny with the boxes held over my head. We discovered these gems while we were in Kona on our graduation trip. I have been craving them ever since. We then proceeded to the shoe section where D got me the leopard print flats I have had my eye on for a month or so now. What a sweet man.

Finally, we headed out to Redwood Road to go to the Drive-In. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE surprising Danny. Even if it is not that exciting, he lights up like an 6-year-old boy on Christmas Eve. He absolutely loves to be surprised. And he was (I made him bring a swimming suit with us to throw off the scent). So we spent the next hour setting up camp, playing card games and trying to find the right radio station. We saw Men in Black III and the Avengers, both of which D has been chomping at the bit to see. I love me some Will Smith and I especially love me some Thor.

Anyone ever play "Fortune Aces" in junior high? I think we made that name up. You name each ace with a guy you like and then the cards tell you what your life would be like. We played this at the Drive-In but made each ace a med school. VCU all the way baby!

It was such a fun night. The weather was beautiful and I love being snuggled up in the back of the Sube with my guy. Date nights are my favorite nights!
